The Smell of a new bike.
So I go down to the Paramount bike shop on a fine Saturday afternoon. The weather was just right for bike riding. The current bike that I have is a 15-inch "motiv" stonegrinder from Costco that is 5 or 6 years old. Despite a constant effort of tuning it up, the bike seriously sucks. I leave this bike in the shed on my quest for a new one, I get a ride from my dad. I've been checking out bikes for a good month now waiting for their fall sale to ripen. I do pick out some nice bikes on the net the Gary Fisher Tassajara or the GT Rebound. Both are sweet bikes in my price range of 450 to 600 dollars with really nice frame, shifters, breaks, and front fork.
So I am at the store with 600 dollars in my pocket, cash. I look around for a long time, it is like the fifth or sixth time of been in the store. I test ride the bike for the second time before deciding to purchase the beast for 519 dollars. I get some other accessories so the total is 551 dollars. I feel it is a great deal. I take the bike home on the way we stopped at Costco and I bought a 20 dollar helmet.
I get home I have a brand spanking new bike. The chain is perfectly greased, the tires are perfectly inflated and it was ready to be ridden. The leather seat and the tires combine to make one of the most exhilarating and sensious smells. My bike ride lasted a good 2 or 3 hours and I see 6 people I know on the trails cause it was such a nice day. My next great project to do with this great bike is to learn to bunnyhop (larger objects), ride longer wheelies, learn the art of rear pogoing and lurching.
The main inspiration to me is a website called trials-online.com
I realize that this article isn't as good as the other bear with me I am in an excited state cause of the bike.
